On 16 January 2009 the students of our school had the opportunity to participate in a lecture, being a part of Comenius programme, which was delivered by Ms Natalie Walura, a graduate of our school. The theme of the presentation was "Balkan stereotypes." During the lecture we could get to know something about the situation prevailing in the Balkans and some countries which this region includes. The speech prepared by Ms Walure showed us the culture, traditions and customs of the Balkan countries. The presentation was also enriched with a demonstration of pop music coming from those regions.
During the lecture we had a chance to learn that the very conflicting division is called "Balkan boiler." The former pupil of our school - Ms Natalia Walura received a scholarship, which gave her the opportunity to visit the beautiful Balkans and share her impressions with us. She told us about the people living there, their joyful and peaceful lifestyle. Ms Walura brought to our attention the fact that despite our erroneous preconceptions, the residents of Balkans do not differ much from the rest of Europeans.
I think our students enjoyed Ms Walura’s lecture , because it was very salutary.
