“Ciociaria Oggi” Sunday 1st March 2009
Students and teachers of “the Hotel and Catering School” of Sora have just come back home from Turkey. They participate in the International Comenius Project Meeting within the framework of “Overcoming stereotypes in order to reach understanding and acceptation. Intercultural Dialogue”.They were received by the “ Kuyacak Cok Programli Lisesi” , in Kuyacak, 200 Km from Izmir.
They stayed there from the 16th to the 20th of February 2009 and during their staying they had the great opportunity to discover the civilization and the millenarian culture of that splendid oriental country. They discovered customs and habits and they visited some of the most fascinating places such as Efes, Pammukale, Hierapolis and Aphrodisias.
Above all they had the great opportunity to appreciate the extraordinary hospitality of their correspondents and their families, the constant availability and helpfulness of the school’s teachers who helped them to discover that fascinating place through an intercultural dialogue. Comenius 2008/2010
Comenius is an European programme which assumes cooperation among schools from
different countries. The programme shapes tolerant attitudes for other
cultures and promotes knowledge about their diversity amid young people
and teachers. Integration between schools began in 1987 when The
Erasmus projects came into the life. It was addressed only to students
but when it succeed, the cooperation has been broaden for high schools
